The BGC Team includes more than 20 high-level consultants with expertise in a wide range of business disciplines and industries.
In addition to being experienced business-owners, all BGC consultants have prior industry experience in ‘C’ Level positions and possess highly developed skills in one or more business disciplines such as: Sales, Marketing, IT, Procurement, Product Management, Manufacturing Management, Logistics, Corporate Communications, Finance, Quality Assurance, WH&S, Corporate Governance and more.
For each project we undertake, this talent pool of consultants is configured into a project team under the control of a designated ‘Project Director’ – according to your exact needs.
Chief Executive Officer
Geoff spent the first 10 years of his career in sales and marketing management with Cadbury Schweppes and Duracell and the next 25 developing and implementing integrated marketing solutions on behalf of large corporate and privately-owned businesses, as the owner of award-winning Integrated Marketing Agency, AdMail.
In 2016 he founded Business Builders Group (which now has over 20 Chapters in four countries) and in 2018 he co-founded BGC Consultants with the same commitment to excellence and results that he brings to every project he undertakes.
As a BGC Consultant and Project Director, Geoff offers a clear and incisive strategic marketing perspective that has been honed over 35 years delivering measurable results for major corporations in the FMCG, Retail, IT&T, Automotive and Industrial sectors.
Chief Operating Officer
Mark is a highly accomplished professional and consultant specialising in operational transformation and business integration.
Mark started his career with 5 years of industrial control consultancy and training at Honeywell before moving into operational transformation, customer engagement management, post acquisition integration and program delivery with major organisations such as Westpac, Telstra, and Equifax. Over 23 years as a General Manager and Program Director he gained deep experience running large teams and programs that delivered major transformational outcomes.
In 2018 he co-founded BGC Consultants with the aim of creating an innovative way to bring great value and outcomes for organisations that could benefit from a diverse and highly qualified team of professionals.
Mark’s expertise and experience enable him to bring clear and direct insight into future directions any business can take and the process and structure to take them to the next level by building engagement with their clients and internal teams to levels not often seen.
Tony has been engaged by Government and multiple industries in the private sector over 25 years. He has led assignments involving major organisation change, process re-engineering, divestment, strategic direction and large scale implementation projects.
Tony founded and owned multiple businesses in IT, web hosting & development, HR & recruitment, insurance, hospitality, business surveys, marketing, automotive and financial wellness.
His former corporate executive roles include GM in an industry association, bank Chief Economist, Head of Research & Planning, Chief Manager Banking and Head of Marketing.
Tony holds a degree majoring in Economics combined with other post-graduate studies. He is the author of “The Money Book” – a guide to personal finance for Australian households.
Lance has a wealth of modelling experience across financial and professional services having worked at two of the Big 4 accounting firms (PwC & KPMG), Investec Bank Corporate Finance & Advisory and National Australia Bank across both retail and wholesale banking divisions and products. He is also the CFO of fintech Banjo providing small business loans.
Lance started his own financial modelling consultancy firm following over 20 years of Corporate where he has been a senior leader across Finance within Performance Management and Rates Validation, Finance Business Partnering and FP&A teams.
Alan has a long-proven track record of building business partnerships with customers and channel partners that provide long-term value for all parties. His ‘Can-Do’ style of accountability has seen his own business, Choice Energy – which he co-founded in 2013 – grow nearly 1,000% in the past three years to make it to the fastest growing Australian business list, regardless of industry.
As a former Director at DELL and business leader at Symantec and Salesforce.com, Alan is no stranger to software and big business. Currently COO and co-owner of Choice Energy, Alan leads a highly-skilled team of energy consultants that stand ready to explore how your company might use less grid power. And pay less for it.
Eric is an MBA qualified Business Strategist and Change Agent with strong skills in Acquisition, Growth, Future Proofing and Exit Planning. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders.
Eric started his career with Deloitte Haskins and Sells Australia in 1981. Before entering private practice as a Business Consultant, Eric had a long and successful career in the Australian Automotive Industry; holding senior management roles with AVIS, Jaguar/Rover, Audi, Daimler Chrysler and Hyundai – where he was General Manager of a $1.4 billion company.
A firm believer in lifelong learning, Eric obtained a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney, which was followed by Grad. Dip. EDP (Nepean), Grad. Dip. Management (Deakin), MBA (Deakin), MA Business Research (MGSM) and Executive Coaching (MGSM).
Eric believes in giving back to the business community. He is a Director and Treasurer of the Parramatta Business Chamber and has been on the judging panel of various Business Awards at Local, State and National levels.
Jen has built a successful career in the space of high-level communication and emotions management through Leadership Coaching, Organisation Emotional Intelligence (EI) Skills development and Conflict Resolution.
She is the Executive Director of Victorian Institute of Counselling and Coaching, (VICC) and is keenly interested in behaviours around power, rank, shame constructs, emotional intelligence and respectful relationships.
In 2012 she developed and funded a face-to-face and online training program, Working Against Violence Education (WAVe) – which was designed to build the capacity for workplaces to Recognise, Respond and Refer issues of Family Violence in the Workplace. WAVe was subsequently taken up by local government, hospitals, legal firms and NAB, amongst others.
Jen is a published author on the construct of Resilience and capacity building for children and serves as a board member for safe steps. Her advocacy and volunteer work includes personal appearances, print, radio and television interviews, keynote addresses, and panel discussions for safe steps, McAuley Community Services for Women, White Ribbon, Vic Health, AFL elite level players, Federal and State Governments, and VIC Police.
Nerio has over 30 years experience in Workplace Relations across a diverse range of industries in both the Public and Private Sectors including health, policing, finance, administration, entertainment and welfare.
His skills and expertise are in the fields of Workplace Conflict, Bullying and Harassment, Organisational Change, Cultural Communication, Diversity, Equal Opportunity and Negotiation Skills.
Within this broad field, Nerio has particular expertise in workplace conflict and bullying, has presented at numerous Australian and International Bullying Conferences and assisted organisations in both resolving current issues and prevention through training and policy development.
Tony has worked with global brands both locally and internationally and holds an MBA from Bond University.
He has extensive sales and marketing management experience in the FMCG, retail, fashion and IT sectors.
As a consultant, he uses this experience to guide his clients along the journey to finding their ultimate business model. He places particular emphasis on the implementation of trust-based methodology, internally and externally, enabling organisations to thrive in the digital age.
Tony is a commercially astute and results-driven individual with an unbridled passion for business excellence.
Paul is a media and innovation specialist who has played key roles at Radio New Zealand, News Ltd and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, where he has held editorial, innovation and strategic management positions – ensuring the companies were well ahead of the news technology curve.
He has undertaken or been involved in a number of media related transformation projects, streamlined work practices, specified and sourced broadcast related technology and has developed a strong ability to manage change and the culture associated with significant transformations.
In later years Paul has worked in the innovation and start-up sector, he’s a Director of Ausfirst Risk and Compliance, which holds an Australian Financial Services License and incubates and promotes unique innovative demand-driven business solutions.
Denise Archie (HFTGN), Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist, Author, Educator, Coach and Speaker has been working in Vocational Education and Training for over 35 years.
Recognised as one of Australia’s pioneers in online learning, Denise is a passionate educator who inspires people to see the potential within themselves and to create their own ‘magnificence’ in the world.
In recognition of her lifelong commitment and contribution to education, Denise has been inducted as an Honorary Fellow of the Teachers’ Guild of NSW and is an acclaimed Workplace Culture expert and a ‘Behavioural Game Changer’
Co-founder of the multi-award-winning Australasian Centre for Work Education and Coaching College, Denise’s philosophy is to provide a learning environment that allows participants to ‘fail safely to learn quickly’. An approach that ensures ‘challenging moments’ turn into ‘AH HA’ learnings for all participants and outstanding results for their organisations.
James Flaherty is an award-winning marketer with a career that has spanned blue chip brands, small businesses and industry associations.
With over 20 years marketing and strategy experience gained in the Australian and UK markets, James specialises in the business to business and consumer marketing sectors where his strategies are driven by a single point of truth – who is the customer?
James is a respected speaker, writer and business advisor and can usually be found sporting one of his trademark bright orange t-shirts, inhaling a coffee and scuttling from meeting to meeting and from event to event.
When he is not in business mode, you’ll find him coaching junior soccer, running, or lost in a good book.
Marilyn started her business journey at the age of 18, when she bought a small retail business in receivership. By doing the things that came naturally to her – implementing measurable systems, finding problem areas and fixing them – she quickly turned the business around
and sold it for a profit.
This early success sparked a passion for rejuvenating and revitalising tired businesses (and business owners) and has led her into a long and successful career devising turnaround strategies for SME businesses in the US, Australia and NZ.
By calling on her broad business experience and expertise in personal development, Marilyn provides practical and logical solutions that work quickly to progress and grow struggling businesses to the next level.
Philip has a strong background in advising businesses to improve performance and change organisation behaviour.
After gaining experience in accounting roles in heavy manufacturing and mining he held senior commercial and management roles in the Brambles Group in transport, waste management and equipment rental.
Philip is a strong believer that good management decisions require management reports that are meaningful, accurate and on time and is highly skilled at interpreting the data contained in these reports.
Through his recent roles as a director of local Bendigo Community Banks and President of the Diamond Creek Traders Association he has developed a strong belief in the power of positive community engagement to foster business and economic growth.
Philip holds a commerce degree from Melbourne University, a post graduate diploma in accounting and finance from Swinburne University. He holds a CPA Public Practice Certificate, is a registered Tax Agent and in 2004 completed the AMP Financial Planning Diploma.
Before entering the consulting space, Marat accumulated over 12 years of professional and technical experience in business, and enhancing business operation systems through technology.
Since that time he has launched a successful tech company and gained significant experience in software development and project management and is well-equipped to recommend the best technical solutions for your business.
Marat has a background in finance and he holds CPA accreditation. Previously, he worked in Biotechnology company, Solagran Limited, where he assisted the CFO with the ASX compliance and reporting and financial forecasting. He has also managed Intellectual Property for the company.
Colin is a proven business professional with diverse experience in project management and solution implementation, complemented by solid experience in operational and service delivery.
Over the course of his career, Colin has held management and leadership roles across a wide range of organisations and industries and accumulated significant experience dealing with multiple branches of government and other regulatory authorities.
In recent years, Colin has been delivering major value in organisation undergoing mergers and acquisitions or re-organisation by supporting the HR function with customised tools and processes, as well as those simply wanting to ensure they are operating effectively in a highly competitive environment.
Colin has a Bachelor of Applied Science in IT.
Spicy Web founder, Tony Sambell, is a digital marketing expert who built an elite team of dedicated digital natives from nothing into one of Australia’s Top 10 Google-ranked digital agencies.
Understanding the ever-changing nature of his industry, Tony makes it a point to not only keep up with the latest trends and best practice, but to also keep ahead of the curve. This tenacity was exemplified when his agency was selected by Google to partake in the Trial Google Partner Program and eventually become one of only 80 selected for the program’s pre-launch.
With such impressive and extensive professional achievements, it would be easy to think that Tony is married to his career. Yet at Tony’s core, he is a true family man who makes it a priority to be home in time for dinner with the kids.
